Blood pressure on wheels

Self inflicted project to pull-up-socks finally led me to get my car's permanent license plate done today. Woke up after a month of dilly dallying with no real intention of letting this be an efficient day. But with uncharacteristic gusto, doubly fuelled by a porridge and boiled egg breakfast, I was out in the sun, clad in jhal gear on a ridiculously traffic heavy morning, with my ridiculously high indexed glasses that lack the God-sent UV protection of my Audrey-Hepburn-ish-aviators, driving badly and frowning at the bird shit on my windscreen.

It's a bright -bright - bright sunshiny dayyy; my ass!!

Hundred bucks for a cheap plastic black on white sticker which the chap just had to put his grubby paws on and get shouted at me for!

Me: kitni gandi tareekay se paint kiya hai! yeh paint hai ki sticker hai?

Mechanic: chipkaiya hai madam, sticker hai.

Me: spacing toh dekho numberon ke beech mein! itne saalon se kaam kar rahe ho, dhang se toh kar dete

Mecahnic: *ignores*

Me: aur ispe poore haath ke nishaan padh gaye hain!

Mechanic: nishaan toh mit jayenge madam

Me: toh mitaiye naa!

Mechanic: gadi mein kapra hai?

Me: Nahi, meri gaadi mein sirf kachra hai

Mechanic: Toh jab gaadi dhulwayenge, yeh nishaan bhi nikal jayenge

Me: Nahi, yeh aap mere saamne nikalege, abhi. varna 100 rupay mein aapko kis liye duun?

Mechanic: Again: gadi mein kapra nahin hai?

Me: pehli baar aapne kya suna tha?

Mechanic: Acha ruko, lata huun.

Disappears, gives me couple of minutes to cool off in the shade, returns with rag and thinner. Proceeds to properly rub new license plate with familiar smelling chemical, leaving me pacified and breathing again.

I thought yeh sab dealer se hota hain. At least, with bikes. You're a little sharp with lower-class people (compared to me).

( oh but i love that you commented:D, just when i was going to do a post on you!=)

perakath: I'm sharp when there's need to be. I do not not randomly shout at "lower class people", and I resent that!

el: 'tis true. you'd be surprised. just this morning i was told my car is aging fast(!).

That's true; I shouldn't have said that. Sorry.

that eloquently explains just about all of humankind's problems.. I don't have a "MY hairdresser" either, and shudder at the mere thought.
